SLED HOCKEY NEEDS THE COMMUNITY! The Central Vermont Pioneer Sled Hockey Team is at it again and have a scrimmage at the Montpelier Civic Center. We need support from our community this Sunday to yell, wave flags, blow whistles and bells to let the team know we are behind them and how proud we are of all the players. Sled hockey is a non profit organization that gives people with physical challenges opportunities that will last a lifetime. In Sled hockey you make friends and memories that impact for a lifetime. This Sunday They're having a scrimmage with a bunch of new players that just joined the team – A LOT OF KIDS. One of the new players is 11 years old and this Sunday will be his first day on the ice. He recently lost a leg from his battle with cancer and we want to do our best to give him a great experience when he meets us this Sunday. As a person with a disability, it can be hard to play sports and find people who understand your challenges – BUT – SLED HOCKEY CLOSSES THAT GAP. The players ages range from 6-65 years. Some of the dads join in with the team. You might get the opportunity to see Troy Kingsbury get run into, pushed over, but maybe even make a goal. This is an exciting, powerful, and fast moving ice hockey game. This Sunday January 15 at the Montpelier Civic Center (road across from Agway that goes behind Car dealership) 2:30-4. PM - Free, spend as much time as you like, bring blankets, gloves, hats and noise makers. Questions? Nancy Emory 802-496-9416. Do you need a ride?
