Hello South End and Hill Section,

In case any weren't aware, the Burlington branch of the Vermont Progressive Party will be hosting it's Town Meeting Day caucus on Tuesday, January 10th, at the O.N.E. Community Center on Allen Street. The event begins with a potluck at 5pm, with the official proceedings beginning at 6pm. More information, including registration, can be found here:

The caucus will present an opportunity for everyone to interact with Progressives from across the city, to take part in potluck festivities, and to hear from candidates for city council and other Town Meeting Day offices about their visions for the Progressive platform moving forward.

One of those candidates will be yours truly, as I seek the Progressive nomination for the South District city council seat. For those of you that don't know me, I'm a civil servant, activist, graduate student, and complete nerd about public policy and it's potential to improve the lives of my friends and neighbors. I live near the corner of South Union and Maple.

On Tuesday, I will be introducing an evidence-based platform, centered around substantive housing and tax policy reforms which I intend to use to run a convincing campaign, and then to make progress towards solving Burlington's problems of affordability and inequity- which I see as being both most evident and most solvable in the issue of shelter. My hope is that I will meet many more of you on Tuesday evening, and that then and throughout the campaign I will have opportunities to share my ideas with you, and to take in your perspectives in order to represent you as comprehensively as possible.
