In addition to routine business, the Brandon selectboard will consider the following at Monday's meeting (physical meeting time and place as well as Zoom option and link to meeting documents elsewhere within this post):
1 conclude the process of writing the proposed town operating budget:
a) the board will adopt the budget proposal produced by the selectboard, budget advisory committee, town manager, town staff, and members of the public during a public workshop series held in November and December
b) this proposal will be put before the voters of the Town in the town report book to be mailed to each household with a registered voter
c) all Brandon voters will have an opportunity to vote on this budget by ballot on or before town meeting day (March 7, 2023)
d) this budget encompasses town operations from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024 ("fiscal year 24").
2 hear from the tree warden regarding a potential shade tree preservation plan
3 approve the annual certificate of highway mileage (affects state highway aid to Brandon)
4 approve the certificate of adoption for the local hazard mitigation plan just drafted through a public hearing process involving the planning commission, selectboard, town manager, and interested citizens
5 sit as sewer commissioners to consider an estimate for electrical work at the Country Club Townhouses wastewater pump station
