Meet Marek Bennett on Saturday, January 14th for a Comics Workshop. Marek is one of the editors of Vermont Reads '22 book, "The Most Costly Journey," an anthology of comics that depict the oral histories of migrant workers who traveled from southern Mexico and Central America to work on Vermont farms.

He will be leading a hands-on demo (via Zoom from his home in NH) showing participants (in person at the Waterbury Library) how to imagine and create new stories. Marek loves creating and loves inspiring others to find their stories. He is a firm believer in the power of the pen (or pencil!) Marek will be showing artwork from this groundbreaking graphic novel, as well as other comics, and taking a look at the the stories behind "The Most Costly Journey." This workshop is made possible by the Vermont Humanities Council and is in collaboration with Makersphere, who will have a couple of their instructors present at the workshop.

Call 802.244.7036 or email judi@waterburypubliclibrary.com to register for the workshop on Saturday, January 14th from 10-noon in the Library's SAL Room. The library will provide basic art supplies. For ages 10 and up.
