Join the Winooski Memorial Library this month for STEAM Ahead Saturdays! Each Saturday from 10-11 AM features a project for young learners ages 5 and older that introduces science, technology, engineering, art and math-based concepts.
January STEAM Schedule:
• January 7th, Code & Go Robot Mice: We will learn introductory coding concepts by programming a robot mouse step-by-step through various mazes to find a cheese wedge!
• January 14th, Marble Run: We'll get to work designing our own marble run courses using recyclable materials. This is a great hands-on project for learning about angles, gravity, and problem solving.
• January 21st, Invisible Ink: Join us in making invisible ink to write secret messages or draw abstract doodles. We'll be using turmeric, which can stain hands and light-colored clothing, so plan to come to the Library ready to get (potentially) a little messy.
• January 28th, Fingerprint Identification and Painting: We'll learn about the different kind of fingerprint patterns and document our own. We'll also get creative incorporating our own fingerprints into mixed media art!
