Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Williston and St. John Vianney Catholic Church of South Burlington are collaborating to offer Surviving Divorce, a twelve-week support group program aimed at helping people deal with the difficulties of experiencing divorce.
Co-facilitators Cathie Cassano and Deacon Josh McDonald are Catholics who have been divorced and will bring their own experiences and understanding into these weekly sessions.
Surviving Divorce features twelve video presentations that cover topics such as shock and grief, anger and forgiveness, money issues, dealing with children and a former spouse, and annulment and remarriage. This program is for the newly separated and divorced and those still struggling with issues many years later. It will help them find answers to their questions, restore their hope, and begin authentic healing.
The program begins on Thursday, January 12 at 6:00pm at St. John Vianney Church, 160 Hinesburg Rd. in South Burlington. The cost of the program for participants includes the Surviving Divorce Personal Guide and all program materials.
This program is based on the teachings of the Catholic Church and is open to anyone who needs comfort, counsel, and clarity after divorce. Contact Deacon Josh at jmcdonald@vermontcatholic.org.
