Free Sun Style Tai Chi Starts Jan. 21 in St J

Past event
Jan 21, 2023, 10:30 to 11:30 AM

Registration is open for level 1 of Fall Prevention Tai Chi. The FREE class meets at Heart Space Yoga and Healing Center at 515 Bay Street in St. Johnsbury on Saturdays from 10:30 am to 11:30 am starting January 21st and will end on March 11th.

Clinical studies have proven that regular practice of Tai Chi can ease joint pain, improve balance, boost mental clarity, and build a sense of belonging. The Fall Prevention Tai Chi Program, offered at many locations around the State of Vermont, uses three short movement sequences drawn from Sun Style Tai Chi. The Level 1 sequence introduces essential principles of Tai Chi in a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment. Fall Prevention Tai Chi instructors are trained and certified by Tai Chi Vermont to teach safely and effectively and are sponsored by the NEK Council on Aging. The Council on Aging encourages those 40 years old and older to enroll in their sponsored programs.

We have no precautions for COVID in place at this moment. Please dress in layers, bring indoor shoes, and water bottles.

Handicapped persons should enter along the riverside, which it the upper driveway (to the left of the Industrial building).
There is limited handicapped parking. There is a ramp and minimal stairs to get to the studio that way.

If you can use the stairs, please, park in the front parking lot as you pull in. Enter using the front entrance (loading dock side) and come up the stairs.

For more information about directions from Railroad Street, parking on site, items to bring, and COVID precautions email Karen Budde - kbnekcoa@gmail.com.
