Brain Club is a FREE weekly community education series offered free (donations appreciated) by All Brains Belong VT. Join us to learn how brain science impacts how we learn, work, play, and live. 1 in 5 people thinks, learns, and/or communicates differently than the so-called "typical" brain. The "one size fits all" approach to most systems in society leaves many people in our community feeling left out, "othered," and isolated. Come learn more about this and more at Brain Club! This month's theme is "Life, Reimagined". Info & registration: https://allbrainsbelong.org/brain-club
Tuesdays 6-7PM on Zoom + recorded for later viewing (produced by Orca Media)
Brain Club: Life, Reimagined
1/3: New Year's Goal-Setting, Reimagined: We live in a world where we get all kinds of messages about who we're "supposed" to be, and how. Maybe this is the year we let that go? We'll be unlearning the Brain Rules of New Year's and discussing becoming your authentic self in 2023.
1/10: Home Life, Reimagined (Community Panel): Many of us were socialized to think of Home Life looking a certain way. And when we don't experience that with our own families we feel like we are failing. Let's reconsider together what an "ideal" home looks like and learn what we can do to create a neurodiversity-affirming culture at home.
1/17: Education, Reimagined (Community Panel): When planting a garden, every plant has different needs and thrives in different growing conditions. The same thing goes for Sweet Little Loves. There is no "correct" way to think, learn, play, communicate, socialize or BE. It's time to start talking about the missing piece of education: neurodiversity-affirming environments with universal design.
1/24: Employment, Reimagined (Community Panel): At a time when employee burnout is at an all-time high and many businesses are struggling to recruit and retain employees, it is essential to create workplace environments where people with all types of brains can thrive. What does it mean for employers to be neuro-inclusive? Join us to hear from Vermont employers who are doing things differently.
1/31: Healthcare, Reimagined (Community Panel): The neurodivergent community faces so many barriers to accessing the healthcare we need. During this Brain Club, we'll discuss specific strategies that people can take to self-advocate for their healthcare needs.
