Vermont Career and Technical Education (CTE) Listening Sessions

As part of a study on the governance and funding of CTE being conducted for the Vermont Legislature, Augenblick, Palaich and Associates (APA) is inviting all CTE stakeholders (educators, families, students, business and industry representatives, community members) to join a listening session. The listening sessions will provide an open forum for stakeholders to share their thoughts on how well the CTE system in Vermont is serving students and the workforce, and to identify potential areas for improvement. The study team is interested in hearing any feedback on the CTE system, including:

• How well does the system meet the needs of students? To what extent are students
able to access programs of interest to them? What barriers to student access exist?
• How well does the system meet the needs of local businesses and industries? Are there
barriers that prevent the system from being responsive to industry needs?
• Do stakeholders have appropriate opportunities to provide input on the CTE system?
• Is the CTE system sufficiently funded?
• How could the CTE system be improved to better serve students and the workforce?
Listening sessions will be held in six locations across the state in the late afternoon and/or evening.

The Central Vermont Career Center (CVCC) will be hosting listening sessions on January 11th. One at 4pm and another at 6pm. These are scheduled to take place in the Spaulding High School Library and may move to the Auditorium if that additional space is needed.
