*** SPECIAL EVENT at the Montpelier Contra Dance***
The best way to say farewell to the Old Year and celebrate the New Year: dancing joyfully!
The next "Montpelier Contra Dance" will happen Saturday, Dec. 31st: 8:00 PM to midnight! As usual, at the Capital City Grange Hall, 6612 VT-12, Berlin VT 05602. Just one mile south of Montpelier.
To dance into 2023, we have Luke Donforth calling, with music by one of the great Vermont dance bands, Atlantic Crossing! Their great New England/Canadian/Celtic tunes will be matched with interesting dances, some written by Luke, and all taught by him. The dance will go on until midnight, at no extra charge *** We'll have a special celebration at midnight ***
Instruction/Newcomers' session at 7:40, we always love to have new folks join us! If you haven't been to a contra dance, check out the videos of folks dancing in the Grange Hall at: http://capitalcitygrange.org/dancing/contradancing/. You'll also see our COVID protocols--we require good masks: N95, KN95/KF94 or medical/surgical masks. Please bring your own, we'll have a few extras if needed. If you feel sick, please stay away and join us at our next dance.
Admission prices--same as always: $12 for adults, $5 for kids & low-income folks, or be a "dance supporter" and give us $20, to help us pay the wonderful callers, musicians and sound techs for the great work they do. We appreciate everyone who comes, whatever you pay! Please note that our special celebration will NOT be alcoholic--drinking and dancing don't mix well.
