Collapse-Aware folks will gather on Sunday Dec 18 at Democracy Creative, at 266 Pine street, the "Soda Plant", suite 207. (Enter at the common door, walk 20 feet, make a right, walk 40 feet and through the double door, stairway on the left.)
Most people shut down when I tell them I study Collapse, either it's too scary or they aren't thinking that far ahead, but there are collapse aware folks. Perhaps you? Depending on who you believe, Collapse is somewhere between possible and unavoidable, between loss of power and major loss of life. I am in the "unavoidable" and "pretty dire" camp. Maybe it's time to do more than stress.
Will it be an educational group? A social group? An activist group? Hopefully it will give you a chance to find your path, and we will grow as a community. What this group becomes depends on what needs people bring to it. This will be the inaugural meeting. I would like to start by asking "Why are you here?" and "what does Collapse mean to you?"
I look forward to seeing you Sunday evening.
Stephen Marshall
