Lincoln's Annual Town Meeting is coming up on Monday night, March 6 at 6:00 p.m. at Burnham Hall. The Selectboard will be creating a warning and agenda, to alert voters about the business we will be taking up. If there is something you want to see on the agenda, you can submit a petition to them, requesting that it be added to the warning.
AGENDA PETITION REQUIREMENTS ARE DIFFERENT THAN BALLOT PETITION REQUIREMENTS.
Blank petitions for adding an item to the town meeting agenda are available at the Lincoln Town Office, or you can download one from our website: https://lincolnvermont.org/forms
*Agenda petitions require signatures of 5% of the registered voters of our town, which is 53 signatures.
*Completed agenda petitions are due to the town clerk no later than January 18, but we would appreciate if you could possibly get these to us by January 16th, so the Selectboard doesn't have to have a special meeting to accept your petition (their regular meeting will be on Jan. 17).
Your petition must be worded in the affirmative. Please ask your town clerk, moderator, or selectboard chair before beginning to circulate an agenda petition, so we can assure you that you have worded it correctly.
