Hooked Rug Exhibit July 5 Upstairs at Town Office

Past event
Jul 5, 2014

Tinmouth had an exhibit at History Expo at the Tunbridge Fairgrounds last weekend.

The theme was about Art and Artisans in Vermont and our exhibit honored Patti Yoder and Susan Mackie who brought rug hooking back to life in Tinmouth in the 70's. Come see how the art and craft has evolved. Lots of color, original designs. wall hangings, and a beautiful runner contrast with rugs with muted colors that were made to be put on the floor. One rug goes back nearly 100 years. Another was crafted in 2010. The exhibit is open from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. before the Old Firehouse Concert. The Dupont brothers are playing a fund raiser for the Tinmouth Pond residents fighting the milfoil battle. The Exhibit will also be open at intermission.

Susan and Patti's work as well as that of other Tinmouth "Hookers" is on display. If you or your family have hooked rugs that you are willing to exhibit, please bring them to the town office this Thursday to be included.

Entry to "The Upstair" is through the Library door beside the Old Firehouse. The Exhibit is free. The concert is starts at 7:30. A $10 donation is suggested. Refreshments will be available
