Hello Friends and Supporters,

Unfortunately, last week the Freshies Market got rained out in Moretown. We vendors won't let the weather get in our way, though, and we are hoping for clear skies this week at the Moretown School this Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:30pm.

Jenna will have her beautiful cut flowers, a few plants and cut and ready Thai basil available. If you've never tried Thai basil, it has a slight cinnamon/clove flavor and is great for pesto, desserts, in drinks (I sometimes infuse kombucha with it), and salads.

Karen will have her yummy Mountain Woman and Mountain Man bars, maple syrup from her sugar house, eggs and herbs from her garden. She'll have oregano, thyme, salvia and hot and spicy oregano. I wonder what hot and spicy oregano is like.

I hope that Constancia will come with goat cheese and honey and that David will come with strawberries and greens.

I'm happy to announce that the Curried Kraut is ready and delicious! I sent our friend Bill home with his jars of super-spicy Curried Kraut, and the Indian Cayenne really gave his nice heat and flavor. The rest is mild and flavorful, and I hope you stop by the market and give it a try. I'll also have Saida's Kimchi, Celtic Kraut, and Sofya's Sauerkraut for fermented veggies in both pints and quarts. I've got two liters of Mulberry Ginger Kombucha by the glass ready too that I hope you'll sample and enjoy.

We are still interested in finding a person or a group to prepare dinners for the market. We'd welcome other vendors too, including entrepreneurial children. The market is a great gathering place for our community, and an excellent opportunity for local small businesses.
