Today world renowned Bear expert and Ben Kilham (PhD) or KilhamBearCenter.org will be at the Peacham Church in the center of the village giving his black bear talk for free, from 2:30 to 4pm today, December 11th 2022. Kilham Bear Center rescues orphaned bear cubs throughout the open season on black bear, where Ben and his wife raise, teach and then re-wild the many cubs of hunted mama bears in Lyme New Hampshire eventually returning them to the backwoods.
Peacham has been the epicenter of a flash point between Vermont's hunting culture and locals, pitting the constitutional privilege of hunting and 180 bear hound hunters: against the constitutional right of land ownership and the hundreds of thousands who own it here in this state. We hope anyone interested in this clash and in simply getting to know more about the bear and how they live and where: please come! You will not be disappointed.
