Friends of Music at Guilford presents Childing of a Maiden Bright: Music to Welcome the Holy Child, at 7:30pm on Friday, December 9 and Saturday, December 10. The Guilford Chamber Singers will sing a variety of Christmas songs under the direction of Tom Baehr, with instrumental interludes on flute and recorder. Don McLean will do his traditional Christmas story reading; this time a new one, "Glory" by the late Mimi Morton of Guilford. The evenings will close with the audience joining in singing traditional carols (masked, please).
In past years, this event was Christmas at Christ Church, but over the COVID hiatus the church has been undergoing some structural issues, so we will be at the newly renovated Broad Brook Community Center (formerly the Broad Brook Grange). There is improved parking, bathrooms, and handicap accessibility, including an elevator to the second floor concert space!
Please allow some extra drive time. From the Guilford Country Store on Route 5, turn onto Guilford Center Road by Richmond Auto Body and follow the road for about 4 miles. Shortly after you pass the signs for the school and town office, the Community Center will be on your right. Parking entrance is immediately past the building.
