This May pianist David Feurzeig began the Play Every Town project, 252 Community Concerts for a Cooler Climate. He's playing a free piano concert in every town in Vermont over the next few years, to call attention to the climate crisis and to challenge our notions about routine long-distance travel. You can read more at www.PlayEveryTown.com.
On Sunday, he'll be playing concert #21 at the Richmond Free Library at 3 pm, on their fine grand piano.
Each program is localized: on Sunday, David will be joined by Richmond native and recent UVM grad Ginny Churchill for the Brahms Clarinet Sonata in F minor, a nostalgic masterpiece. He'll also play Schubert, Scarlatti, and lead a short song by legendary Vermont folk musician and educator Pete Sutherland, who passed away last week.
Admission is free, but voluntary donations will be accepted to benefit 350 Vermont.
