Hello, neighbors :)

If you enjoy, or are curious to try, to express yourself through dancing in a non-judgmental, safe space - I would like to invite you to join our dances on Thursdays, right here in Putney Meeting House. We each dance to the music as if we were alone at home, only we are around other people doing the same. We dance for nobody but ourselves, letting go of shyness, self-consciousness as we witness others let go and just move however we want. This is a form of a healing practice, the way I see it - we heal our bodies by tuning in and moving in the way that feels "good to body right now", and we heal our emotions by overcoming shyness and fears as we see others do and as we feel more safety in the space over time, and we heal ourselves through the bond that grows from sharing the space with other dancers - a community of sorts :)

We have 2 rules here:
~ no conversation on the dance floor - you could, for example, tap and invite someone outside to speak to them;
~ no recording of any kind - this is to create safe space for all of us;

We hold an opening circle at 7pm, dancing 7 - 8.30pm approximately.
Please join a little before 7 if you can to enjoy the full experience - we dance to the "5rhythms" wave, which is a beautiful flow of music from really slow to fast to slow again. It is really enjoyable to ride this music wave, to be honest.

$10 cash at the door.
No experience necessary, no gender/age/origin/etc requirements.
