Immediately following our morning service on Sunday, 12/11 all are invited to gather around a newly installed Peace Pole in the courtyard of Charlotte Congregational Church (address and contact info below). Our service will be held in our church sanctuary at 10am and the dedication will begin outside at approximately 11am, lasting for approximately 20 minutes. During this time we will also observe the 10th anniversary of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, mourn the gun violence that persists, pray for transformation, and recommit ourselves to doing the work necessary to end it. All are welcome to join us for our service at 10am, the dedication at 11am, or both.

Some Background: This installation of the Peace Pole was made possible by the energy and vision of our church's Social Justice Ministry, approved by our Church Cabinet, and installed by our Facilities team in late November. It will serve as a witness for peace in our community and serve as a focal point for gatherings as we hold vigils, protests, celebrations and work for peace and justice in the months and years to come.
