Public Invited to Share Input on Waterfront Path & Beebe Spur Trail Wayfinding
Free Walking Tours and Forum Scheduled for Wed., Dec. 7
Join us for an evening public forum, 6:30-8 PM at Work Commons, 3rd floor, 194 Main St., Newport (above Newport Naturals Café).
Also on Wednesday, you can join one or both of the one-hour public walking tours on the Newport Waterfront Path, and share your feedback and ideas about signage and other wayfinding issues. The public input will be used in a "wayfinding" project aimed at enhancing navigation to, from, and on the Newport Waterfront Recreation Path.
The first walk will take place from 1:30-2:30 PM, departing from the trailhead at the Gateway Center. The second walk will take place from 3:00-4:00 PM departing from the parking lot at Prouty Beach. During the walks, the public will be invited to share their thoughts about needed signage along the path and throughout town leading folks to the trail.
Individuals are asked to RSVP for the walks and the evening meeting by contacting Joe Fox, Outdoor Recreation Specialist with the Center, at jfox@northernforest.org or by calling Fox at (802) 751-9205.
