Building Connections with Youth Dec. 6 Virtual Event

Past event
Dec 6, 2022, 6 PM

Hi everyone, I'm Sultana Khan, and I'm a public health advocate and facilitator who specializes in creating spaces and hosting conversations that support community resilience.

I have been working with young people in some form or another for almost two decades, and right now, young people feel disconnected from their communities, each other, and themselves as a result of the world adults have created for them. As people who care about our children and the families who raise them, it's important for us to know that we have both the power and the responsibility to help youth feel like the valued members of our community they are.

Young people are not just the future of our world, they are current members of our society who deserve our attention, compassion, and confidence. Youth are capable of world-altering things with access to the support and resources they need to thrive--and our world needs altering. Why not invest our community's time and energy in youth and families as one way of beginning that alteration?

Tomorrow evening I am hosting a virtual, conversational event at 6 pm. I'll be sharing some information about what the science says about how caring adults can support young people, and some advice about how to work with youth to bring out their best selves. You can register for the event here:
