The fall session of the Central Vermont Osher Life-long Learning Institute (OLLI) continues on Wednesday, December 7 at 1:30 pm at the Savoy Theater, Main Street Montpelier. Well known film maven, historian, and author Rick Winston will present the second of a three-part series of films based on novels of Henry James.
This week we will see The Innocents from 1961. This psychological thriller is based on the novella, Turn of the Screw, and stars Deborah Kerr and Michael Redgrave.
The remaining film in the series is The Bostonians and will be shown on December 14.
If you have not already registered for the entire fall series, you may register for the remaining films for $8 apiece. We cannot take money at the door; registration should be done online ahead of time, by phone at 802-656-5817 or by mail to UVM OLLI. Or if you decide to drop in at the last moment, you may send a check or pay online after the fact. All the details are at https://learn.uvm.edu/olli/centralvt
Please remember that the programs that we had at the Senior Center from September-November were recorded by ORCA Media and then put on their website, so if you missed something you particularly wanted to hear, there is still a chance. Currently they have these talks available: Diane Derby on "The US Senate From the Inside; Maudean Neill on "The KKK in 1920's Vermont"; Sean Beckett on "Backyard Birding Basics"; Curt Lindberg on "Our Better Nature: Hopeful Excursions in Saving Biodiversity" and Dr. Mark Levine on "Applied Public Health." Go to their website: orcamedia.net and search by title or under Osher.
See you at the movies!
