The next meeting of the Newbury Book Discussion Group will be Thursday, Jan.5th from 7-8PM at the Tenney Memorial Library. This month we are reading Susan Cain's "Bittersweet: How Sorrow and Longing Make us Whole." Perfect for this time of year when happiness and melancholy can both compete for our mood, Cain employs a "mix of research, storytelling, and memoir to explore why we experience sorrow and longing, and how embracing the bittersweetness at the heart of life is the true path to creativity, con-nection, and transcendence." (Amazon). Copies of the book are available through interlibrary loan at your local library. Pick one up and join us in the new year for what should be an interesting discussion.
