The Chelsea Public Library and SafeArt invite you to the next meeting of our Living Well Discussion Group on Monday, December 19th from 5-6 PM. We'll be talking about Blue Zones, or "rare, longevity hotspots around the world where people are thriving into their 100s."

Here are some resources to get you started:
-Website: Blue Zones Power 9: Lifestyle Habits of the World's Healthiest, Longest-Lived People - https://www.bluezones.com/2016/11/power-9/
-Book: The Blue Zones: Lessons for Living Longer From the People Who've Lived the Longest by Dan Buettner - copies available at the library
-Cookbook: The Blue Zones Kitchen: 100 Recipes to Live to 100 by Dan Buettner - copies available at the library
-Article: "13 Unusual Ways to Shed Stress (Lessons from the World's Blue Zones)" - https://www.bluezones.com/2022/02/13-unusual-ways-to-shed-stress-lessons-from-the-worlds-blue-zones/
-Free online TEDtalk: "How to live to be 100+" - https://youtu.be/ff40YiMmVkU (20mins)
-Free online TEDtalk: "Putting those secrets to work" - https://youtu.be/waGHi6aMzh8 (16mins)
-For a different POV, here's an article that refutes the veracity of this topic and says it's a myth: https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/blue-zones-diet-speculation-based-on-misinformation/

What do you think? Are the Blue Zone "Power 9" lifestyle habits true/desirable/feasible? Will you adjust anything based on Blue Zone recommendations? How does this compare to other healthy lifestyles, diets and wellness movements? Let's consider and chat about these things & more on 12/19!

All are welcome to the discussion; no preparation required! Contact the library for the link to join us virtually.
