Literary Open Mic at Stone Valley Arts and More!

Past event
Dec 3, 2022, 7 to 9 PM

Stone Valley Arts Literary Open Mic will be held Saturday December 3, 7:00 p.m. at Stone Valley Arts at Fox Hill (stone church across from Poultney High School). Poets, Storytellers, Spoken Word Artists, Writers in all genres are invited to perform your own original work or favorite literary works. Serials and/or excerpts of longer works of fiction and other genres are also appreciated. Moth-style (first person true stories) are always a hit, as are folk tales and other stories. Musicians and singer-songwriters are also welcome. Performers can RSVP via email to reserve a spot, or a sign-up sheet will be available on arrival. We already have one spot reserved! This event is free, so come and bring a friend or two. Audience is always welcome!

A Holiday Open House and Fundraiser is planned for 3:00 to 5:00. A donation will allow you to choose from a selection of matted and framed Alan Nyiri photographs which Alan generously donated, so all proceeds will benefit SVA programs.

A potluck follows to pay tribute and thank Erika Schmidt, SVA's first Executive Director, who is stepping down after many years of dedicated service to Stone Valley Arts. Come for the fundraiser-potluck celebration at 5:00, and stay for the Open Mic!

But wait, there's more! Peg TV will be onsite at 6:45 to film a holiday greeting, so dress for the holidays and/or bring your best props to be in the film.

Stone Valley Arts is your community art center, dedicated to "Inspiring Creativity" in all forms! Check out the website to see a calendar of events, activities, and possibilities to explore and express your creativity! stonevalleyarts.org
