The Vermont Ski & Snowboard Museum's Virtual Writers on the Red Bench Series presents, Heroes in Good Company; The Human Experience of the 10th Mountain Division in WWII with Vermont author Skyler Bailey on Thursday, December 1st at 7pm via ZOOM.
The 10th Mountain Division was conceived in Vermont and 260 Vermonters are part of this elite group of ski troopers who were inducted into the Museum's Hall of Fame in 2003. Join Vermont author Skyler Bailey and local historian Brian Lindner, on Thursday, December 1st at 7:00 PM as they discuss Bailey's new book, Heroes in Good Company: L Company, 86th Regiment, 10th Mountain Division 1943-1945. Learn about the journey that lead to the writing of Heroes in Good Company, Bailey's personal ties to the stories, (he's the Grandson of Everett Bailey, a 10th Mountain Division veteran and alumnus of Stowe's Sepp Ruschp Ski School) and how he brought to life the human experience of World War II. Signed copies are available in the gift shop and thru the online shop.
This event complements the Museum's permanent 10th Mountain Division exhibit where a plaque honors each Vermont soldier by name.
Brian Lindner, a native Vermonter and military historian whose father and two uncles were members of the 10th Mountain Division will facilitate the discussion.
