The 2014 Vermont Reads book choice is WONDER by RJ Palacio, an inspiring story about the importance of kindness. 

Neighborhood Connections received a grant from the Vermont Humanities Council to encourage a state-wide, inter-generational reading of this book. They will host a Pizza and Movie Night kick-off event on June 30th at their Meeting Place behind People's Bank in the Londonderry Plaza. At 6 pm, the film I Am Sam (starring Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer, PG 13) will be shown accompanied by Jake's pizza. 

After the movie, participants can sign up for summer activities relating to WONDER and take home a copy of the book. Space is limited so please call 824-4343 to reserve seats. 

The S. Londonderry Free Library is happy to partner with Neighborhood Connections to promote the reading of WONDER. An inter-generational discussion of the book will take place at the library towards the end of the summer.
