Brain Club is a FREE weekly community education series offered free (donations appreciated) by All Brains Belong VT. Join us to learn how brain science impacts how we learn, work, play, and live. 1 in 5 people thinks, learns, and/or communicates differently than the so-called "typical" brain. The "one size fits all" approach to most systems in society leaves many people in our community feeling left out, "othered," and isolated. Come learn more about this and more at Brain Club! This month is Brain Club Greatest Hits – highlights of "lessons learned" this past year.

Brain Club: 2022 Greatest Hits

12/6: Everyone Flips Their Lid: Sometimes we look around and everyone else seems to "have it together." In reality, everyone flips their lids. This session is for people of all ages. We will explain the basics of nervous system regulation and introduce a framework for kids and adults to take stock of what stresses us out in everyday life – as well as some strategies for managing those stressors.

12/13: "Brain Rules" that No Longer Serve You: "You always have to share your toys." "Always look people in the eye." There are so many messages that we've received and over-rehearsed in our lives that can be so unhelpful. We all have Brain Rules. Learning to distinguish Brain Rules vs. World Rules can be a powerful tool to transform one's relationship with our families, friends, coworkers, and ourselves.

12/20: Designing a Life that Works for Your Brain: We all have different brains. Learning about your brain is the first step to figuring out your needs. From there, you can design a life to meet your needs, play to your strengths, and adapt the environment to fit your brain.

12/27: Communicating & Negotiating Access Needs: We all have access needs. "Access needs" are anything a person needs in order to meaningfully participate in an activity. This includes aspects of the environment, communication, movement, sensory-processing, technology, information processing, and more.
