Barry Genzlinger learned as a child to build things, and was taught by his grandfather to turn wood pieces on a lathe. In recent years he discovered an aptitude for making small things, first spinning tops and then small bowls, using a wide variety of woods, including reclaimed and repurposed wood.
His smallest piece, to date, is a goblet that is only 1/4 inch in diameter. Barry is one of December's featured artists at the Artist In Residence Gallery in St. Albans, Vermont.
Janice Decooman, Janice creates fiber art, often using angora from her beloved French angora rabbits and natural indigo dye grown in her garden. She enjoys sculpting fiber by needle felting anything from journal covers and wall art to her favorite animals including the rabbits she raises and the canaries that fill her house with song. Janice blends and spins fiber into yarn and knits or weaves them into wraps, capes or hats. Each unique piece is created with a variety of fibers infused with nature's magic; soft wools, silk, angora and mohair, sparkling fibers and delightful textures. Janice is one of December's featured artists at the Artist In Residence Gallery in St. Albans, Vermont.
Maureen Genzlinger makes decorative fiber ornaments using a variety of materials including silk ribbons, hand spun and hand dyed threads, and textured yarns. Since she began this pursuit in 1979, her process has evolved to include complex wrapping techniques. In addition to single ornaments, multiple forms are combined into mobiles and beautiful display stands are created from reclaimed wood scraps. Maureen is one of December's featured artists at the Artist in Residence Gallery in St. Albans, Vermont.
Cherie Marshall Color and form are the key elements of Cherie's work. She is inspired by what she sees in nature and by other forms of artwork, which she reinterprets in glass. She is passionate about exploring the multitude of possibilities within the medium of glass and looks forward to continuing her studies. Cherie is one of our featured artists for the month of December at the Artist In Residence Gallery in St. Albans, Vermont.
