The seventh annual Pierce Hall Independence Day 5K Dash for walkers and runners, and the children's (ages 5 to 15) one mile run will take place at the Rochester School on Route 100 Friday, July 4.

The course is wheel measured, primarily flat, grass paths with two moderate hills and two water stops. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Rochester School. The adult walk/run event starts at 8:30 a.m followed by the children's one-mile run. There is free registration for children ages 5 to 15 and registration for adults is $15. T-shirts commemorating the event will be available for sale.

The event will take place rain or shine. Prizes will be awarded at 10 a.m. for the men's, women's and senior walk and run, and the children's one-mile run.
