TROOP 40, HARTFORD, NY, needs SCOUTS to continue our existence on our quest for 100 years. Your sons can help. Otherwise, we will cease to exist.

If you can handle camping, (even in the cold with appropriate instruction,)
If you want to learn skills that might keep you alive in 30 years,
If you want to learn how to find your way, which way is North……? (even at night), Can you follow a compass course? We will teach you.

Cooking awesome food on a campfire,
Camping (with instruction) if you can hack it (we will teach you),
Campfires if you can build them, (we will teach you)
Learn about trapping, farming, fire building, compass work, first aid (you might save someone's life-if you have the skills), swimming, rifle, shotgun, archery, boating, computers, genealogy, athletics, music, sciences, and 100 other topics which are taught by trained local SCOUT LEADERS at no extra charge. Where else can your son(s) learn so much at such little cost in such little time???
And one of the most awesome sports you can learn-ROPE SPINNING! Troop 40 has been doing ROPE SPINNING since 1928-what a TRADITION!!!!!! Come learn about that!!! Learn about Big Bertha and Little Lu Lu!
Everyone is treated equally and with respect. Having a GOOD ATTITUDE is taught because a GOOD ATTITUDE is the best thing you can have. We don't sit at home playing computer games.
Helping others will not only help others but will help you and everyone else. Community service is a wonderful thing.
