The Junior League of Champlain Valley (JLCV) is an organization of women whose mission is to advance women's leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.

JLCV's community service focuses on addressing the issue of affordable living in Vermont. We run Vermont's only Diaper Bank, bulk purchasing and distributing packages of diapers to our partner organizations, mostly local food banks and parent child centers, who in turn distribute to families across the state. At its establishment in 2018, we distributed to a single partner from diaper drives our members held locally. We hoped to one day distribute 100,000 diapers! Today, we distribute upwards of 80,000 diapers per month to 50 partner organizations. As costs of everyday items rise, our partner organizations see more and more families requesting assistance with diapers, and currently there is no federal assistance for these families to purchase diapers. In addition to running the Diaper Bank, our members regularly cook meals for housing insecure youth that come by Spectrum Youth & Family Services Burlington Drop-in Center.

To continue our community projects, JLCV has issued a #GivingTuesday Community Challenge and is seeking to raise $10,000. A gift of $50 covers the ingredients to cook for the approximately 30 people that come to Spectrum's drop-in center on a weeknight. A gift of $80 pays for diapers for a child for a month. Your donation will help support these and other community efforts of the Junior League of Champlain Valley.
