The Tinmouth Conservation Commission invites interested volunteers to join us in working up firewood at the Tinmouth Mtn. Cabin. The Tinmouth Mtn. Cabin is a rustic, remote off-grid cabin for use by hikers, hunters, cross-country skiers and snowmobilers. It is heated by a small woodstove. Volunteers will gather at the lower kiosk at 9:00 AM Sunday morning. The lower kiosk is located at the end of the maintained part of the Pent Road (off Upper Gulf Road) in Tinmouth. From there, we'll pile in Doug's truck for transport to the upper kiosk, then walk the steep 1-mile trail to the cabin. Clothing for cold weather, blaze orange colors (it's hunting season), snacks, water and daypack recommended. We'll be bucking wood to length with chainsaws and hand-splitting with an axe/maul. Call Rainbow @802-446-9529 or Doug @802-446-2928 with any questions.
If you have never been up to the cabin, this is a great way to get a guided tour!
