The traditional Community Thanksgiving Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22, at First Baptist Church, 30 School St., in Richford. This is the first such service since 2019, because the coronavirus pandemic intervened in 2020 and 2021.
The public is invited to attend the service, which will include traditional Thanksgiving hymns. Scriptures have been chosen to focus on the theme of giving thanks, and there will be special music and prayers of gratitude to God for the blessings of life. An offering will be taken to benefit the Enosburg Food Shelf. Refreshments and fellowship will follow the service.
The service is planned by the following congregations: Enosburg Falls/Richford United Methodist Charge, with Pastor Donavee Copenhaver; Franklin United Church and East Franklin Union Church, with Pastor Jason McConnell; Richford First Baptist Church, with Pastor Tim Stetson; Abundant Life Fellowship, with Pastor Lyle Willey; Lighthouse Assembly of God, Pastor Jared Willey; St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, with Pastor Titus Presler; and the area Roman Catholic congregations: St. John the Baptist in Enosburg, All Saints' in Richford, St. Isidore's in Montgomery, and Our Lady of Lourdes in East Berkshire, with Pastors Daniel Jordan and George Flower.
