There is much to be thankful for in November, including live music all around our community. The Burlington Choral Society's next concert is Saturday, Nov. 19, 7:30 p.m., at spacious Elley-Long Music Center in Fort Ethan Allen, Colchester, VT.
I invite you to hear Richard Riley lead the chorus, with soloists and strings, in flamboyant, theatrical music from unconventional Bohemian-born composers, Heinrich Biber (1644-1704) and Jan Zelenka (1679-1745). Bohemian Czech by birth, each went on to important careers -- Biber in Salzburg and Zelenka in Dresden.
Program highlights include Biber's Requiem and joyous Magnificat, two settings of Zelenka's Dixit Dominus, and more. The BCS thinks you'll be surprised and delighted when you hear their work.
