Hello Richmond!
My name is Kennedy Jensen and I am a senior at Mount Mansfield Union High School. This year, I have started a program for high school students titled "Embracing Curiosity @ MMU" which is an extension of the former "Anti-Racism @ MMU" program. It is a student-led program focused on the conscious decision to choose curiosity over instinctual judgment in regard to social justice; cultivating compassion and empathy through education. This takes the form of bi-weekly sessions with professionals across many areas of activism, offered to students during the school day.
This upcoming Wednesday, MMU will be hosting Faye Crosby and offering some time for students to learn more about affirmative action. While all of our sessions are important, I believe that learning more about affirmative action in light of the supreme court case and college application deadlines is important. I wanted to take the time to share this opportunity with the community and parents of MMU students.
