Harwood Union High School is going to Rwanda again! A group of 26 students and four teachers plan to travel to Rwanda, Africa this winter for three weeks.
To fundraise for this trip, Harwood students will be hosting a book sale this weekend in Waitsfield outside the Tempest Bookshop! It will be Saturday, November 12th from 11-5. Name your price, books will be sold by donation! Proceeds from this event will benefit the students going to Rwanda and go towards buying items that the Rwandan people need. Please come to show your support!
The Rwanda Travel Study started in 2003 when a former Harwood student, Jesse Hawkes, shared his volunteer experience in Rwanda and the idea was formed to bring a group of students to the country. Since 2004, Harwood students and teachers have been traveling to Rwanda. Over 200 students and staff have gone so far! The trip will be a rich immersive experience focused on the practice of ethnography, which will teach students as much as possible in a short amount of time about the people, place, and culture.
