Tinmouth Cemtery Tour Sunday June 29

Past event
Jun 29, 2014

Cemeteries aren't just fields of decorated stones. They are full of stories. Tinmouth has 15 cemeteries small and large, with stones going back to the earliest settlers. Veterans of most of our wars through Viet Nam are buried in them; many of them have stories to tell. The Tinmouth Historical and Genealogical Society tour will visit three of our cemeteries: the Sawyer Cemetery on Bliss Road, just west of the village; the Cramton Cemetery on Vt 140 north of the village, and the Tinmouth Cemetery on 140 East of the village. Meet at the town office at 2 PM for an overview of our cemeteries, followed by the tour. All welcome! Some walking is involved, and the Tinmouth Cemetery has a significant hill leading up to the Nathaniel Chipman monument. Bring your own stories about relatives and ancestors who are permanently with us. For information call Grant Reynolds, 446-3457, or THGS President Gail Fallar at 446-2948.
