Help Fight a David and Goliath Battle: Vermont vs Big Food Industry

Past event
Jul 4, 2014

We can be so proud that Vermont recently passed a “Right to Know” law, requiring labeling of genetically modified ingredients in our food. However, corporate food industry giants are now suing our state to keep us from knowing what is in our food.

On July 4th, as we celebrate our independence and civil rights, a bake sale at the Poultney parade will raise funds to help pay for the potentially extensive legal expenses in Vermont’s coming battle.

Please support your Right to Know what is in your food. Come to the bake sale in front of Stone Valley Coop on Main St. in Poultney, from 8 AM-12:00PM for coffee and fresh baked goods before, during and after the parade. All proceeds will go to the Vermont Food Fight Fund (http://www.foodfightfundvt.org).

We will also need bakers, buyers, sign makers and sellers. If you do make something, please do not use any corn, soy or canola products unless they are organic. Otherwise they are probably GMO!
