A sustained Yoga Nidra practice provides more restful and sustained sleep, better dream awareness. This yogic practice provides a guided meditation in which the brain is relaxed and focused inward.
Yoga Nidra literally means yogic sleep. It is an ancient technique where the practitioner enters the deep states of conscious relaxation, the key word here being conscious. It is a systematic practice of moving awareness from our external world to the inner world. Practiced before sleep, it calms the mind and nervous system, allowing for release of anxiety, more deep, vital and restful sleep as well as more awareness of the dream state.
