The kick-off meeting for the Huntington Lower Village Bike/Pedestrian Scoping Study will be held on Friday, June 27 at 2 pm at the Town Office (downstairs). Members of the Selectboard and the Town Administrator will meet with Peter Keating, Senior Transportation Planner at Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission and Lucy Gibson of DuBois & King to discuss the scoping study project plan, followed by a site visit in the Lower Village.

With increasing concerns about traffic, parking and pedestrian/bicycle safety in the lower village, the Selectboard will consider broader transportation alternatives for the lower village before repaving of the Main Road occurs in that area. To support the investigation into various improvement strategies and alternatives, the Town secured a 2013 VTrans Bike/Pedestrian Grant to fund 90% of the cost of preparing a scoping report.
