CVFiber has hired a fiber optic contractor for the first phase of construction! Eustis Cable Enterprises is a communications contractor based in Brookfield, VT. The CVFiber Governing Board has approved the necessary agreements with Eustis and authorized the Executive Committee to order the beginning of work as soon as everything is in place. "We are on the cusp of starting construction," said CVFiber Executive Director Jennille Smith.
Field Data Collection Underway:
Work crews are in the field doing data collection in Plainfield, Marshfield, Cabot, and Williamstown. Don't be surprised if you see them in your neighborhood. CVFiber is looking for local contractors or individuals who can provide buried conduit services to our subscribers where desired with either a ditch witch or ditching plow that can dig a trench at least 24 inches deep to hold up to two, 2-inch conduits. Please send letter of interest with rates, equipment type, references, and insurance information. Must be familiar with Dig Safe requirements or be willing to learn. This is a great opportunity for a small business or startup as we will be connecting thousands of customers over the next 4+ years who may require this service. Minutes Taker Needed:
CVFiber is looking for a part-time person to take notes during Governing Board and Committee meetings, about six meetings per month and producing a summary that captures the gist of the meeting. The person is also responsible for posting the summaries to our website within five days. The work is done remotely and should take 5-10 hours per week. The scope could expand as we need more work done. We're looking for someone to start immediately or no later than Dec 1. Pay rate depends on skill set and experience.
