ELECTION DAY INFORMATION
In Hartland, polls at Damon Hall (1 Quechee Rd.) open at 7 a.m.
In West Windsor, polls at Story Memorial Hall (22 Brownsville-Hartland Rd) open at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8th. Earlier times have been advertised elsewhere, but the official time of 10 a.m. has been in place for more than 40 years, according to Town Clerk Cathy Archibald.
In Windsor, polls at the Town Hall (29 Union St.) open at 9 a.m.
If you need to find another polling place, here is a map containing more information: https://sos.vermont.gov/elections/voters/polling-places/
and all polls statewide close at 7 p.m.
If you voted by mail already, you can check the status of your ballot here: https://mvp.vermont.gov. If you have not voted by mail already, please locate your ballot and bring it with you. However, if you can't locate it, you can sign an affidavit and vote anyway, and your vote will be counted on Election Day.
In Vermont, there is no deadline to register to vote, including Election Day. Find information about that here: https://olvr.vermont.gov. If you register and vote on Election Day, your vote will be counted later but will still count.
Please make whatever arrangements necessary to allow for the time to vote-- your state really does need you. Also, there are two sides to the ballot, and both sides are very important.
Among the various elected local and statewide officials to vote for, there are also two proposed amendments to the Vermont State Constitution that appear on the ballot. These are matters that the legislature voted to bring before the citizens to decide. On the ballot, they appear on the front, left-hand side.
Proposal 2 would amend the Constitution of the State of Vermont to clarify that slavery and indentured servitude in any form are prohibited. (That language was taken right from the bill, which you can find here in red: https://legislature.vermont.gov/Documents/2022/Docs/BILLS/PR0002/PR0002%20As%20adopted%20by%[...]pdf)
Prop. 5 adds to the Constitution an individual's right to personal reproductive autonomy (also taken right from the bill, which you can find here in red: https://legislature.vermont.gov/Documents/2022/Docs/BILLS/PR0005/PR0005%20As%20adopted%20by%[...]pdf)
