Free DIY Amaro (Herbal Bitters) Workshop w/ Guido Masé

Past event
Nov 9, 2022, 7 to 8 PM

Herbal digestive bitters (aka, amari) are, at their most basic, simple extracts whose key ingredients are steeped in alcoholic spirits, then strained and bottled for use. Join local herbalist Guido Masé to explore some of the history behind these convivial preparations and learn the basic template for making your own, along with some simple recipes from traditional maple bitters to more adventurous "dreaming bitters" to a classic salty blend you can add to a Bloody Mary. Co-presented by Phoenix Books and the Vermont Italian Cultural Association. Free on Zoom: November 9, 7-8 pm. For more information and to register visit: VermontItalianCulturalAssociation.org

Guido is co-author of DIY Bitters, available at Phoenix Books, and is an herbalist specializing in therapeutic herbalism and the pharmacology of plants and mushrooms.
