On Wednesday, November 9, Mark Breen (remember "eye on the sky"?) will tell us about the Star of Bethlehem. Did it really happen? Countless astronomers, philosophers and theologians have examined the account in the Gospel of Matthew, other historical accounts of the time, and combined this with our knowledge of astronomy. Retrace these investigations, offering a fascinating exploration of history and astronomy to find out if the Star of Bethlehem was real.
This was scheduled to be our last presentation this fall. However, due to covid exposure, we were forced to cancel and reschedule Rob Mermin's "Parkinson's Pantomime Project" for the following Wednesday, November 16. Please add this to your calendar.
We meet on Wednesdays at the Stowe Cinema, 464 Mountain Road, Stowe at 1:00 sharp. Doors open at 12:30. If you are not an OLLI member or did not preregister for this event and would like to hear from Mark Breen, please come to join us. There will be registration forms to complete and addressed envelopes to send the required $8 to UVM. We can no longer take payment at the door. We hope to see you there.
