DIY Gnome Making Tutorial

Past event
Nov 17, 2022, 3:15 to 6:30 PM

Gnomes will be present at the Vergennes Holiday Stroll this year.

We learned a few things about gnome construction since last year and wish to share our experiences. And, if you have experience constructing gnomes, please join us and share what you have learned.

We will cover making gnomes from plastic flower pots and tomato cages for outdoor display.

The Friends will have gnomes at the library. If you wish to take yours home, you may do so.

Limited materials will be available. Materials you can bring--plaid flannel, old "gnomey" shirts, shaggy rug for beards, red or white Christmas balls for noses, nylon stocking material that can be filled for noses with polyfill, tomato cages, graduated plastic plant pots that can be stacked (3 per gnome), heavy duty glue gun, glue sticks(these will be used heavily), leggings that can be cut for a pointy gnome hat, green fabric, red fabric, scissors, pruning clippers, zip ties, and anything else you think would be useful.

Stakes for outdoor displays against the wind.
