Join us for a parade down Church Street in Burlington, as we fill up the Feeding Chittenden (formerly Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf) trucks with frozen turkeys for families in need! This event kicks off their largest food drive of the season.
Individuals can make a donation of $50 for one turkey.
Families can donate $100 for THREE turkeys.
Donations at any level can be made through our text-to-donate service.
You can show up in person at the corner of Church and Pearl Streets at 10:45am on Saturday, November 5 to collect your turkeys for the 11am parade, led by the UVM marching band, but if you can't make it, no problem: UVM student athletes will be there to trot your turkeys down to Church and Main for you.
Visit trottingturkeys.com to register or donate; you can also text "BTVTURKEYS" to 44-321; donations are accepted at any level.
The turkeys and the proceeds go to Feeding Chittenden, where projects like their food shelf, food delivery services, and more are all focused at preventing hunger in our community.
The more the merrier in this parade, and that will mean more people we help feed this holiday season!
