Join us on Wednesday, November 16th from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM for our annual Friends of Waterbury Reservoir Meeting at SunCommon, 442 US Route 2, Waterbury, VT. We're excited to hold an in-person meeting to talk about the issues regarding the reservoir and to share our accomplishments.
This is your opportunity to learn about and share your insights and concerns about our favorite body of water.
We had another successful season in regard to our Aquatic Invasive Species Greeter Program. Zach Johnston, the Greeter Coordinator will talk about the invasive species threatening the reservoir and the other greeter's experiences inspecting boats and talking one on one with users of the reservoir.
The Waterbury Dam is scheduled for more maintenance and Dam Safety Engineer Benjamin Green will share the latest updates.
Sheila Goss, Vice President of Friends of Waterbury Reservoir will report on our Loon project, as well as our fishing line recycling efforts.
The new on-water State Park Ranger, Ben Foltin, will share his observations and experiences about the happenings this summer on the reservoir.
Kristen Sharpless, Executive Director of Stowe Land Trust, and Allan Thompson from Waterbury Land Initiative will present about the Shutesville Wildlife Corridor. This important corridor is adjacent to the reservoir and is one of the five most important wildlife crossings in Vermont.
