This Thursday November 3rd MadDog Trout Unlimited returns to indoor meetings with a Pint Night at The Reservoir in Waterbury!

The public is welcome!

It's time to join other MadDoggers and the like-minded discover how their angling summer/fall went, where they fished, how they did and what was the best time on the water!

Remember, too, that trout fishing now extends past 10/31, with the C&R season in most Vermont rivers so at the meeting you may hear about exciting places to keep fishing!  Locally, we can still fish the Winooki, Mad, Little (but not the Dog, more on the Dog in a bit).  Or maybe head over to the Lamoille or Lewis, oh and maybe try the Winooski in Jonesville for landlocks, there have been many fished moved up that way from the fish lift in Winooski!  Over 100 salmon this year!

The "meeting" starts at 7:00 and earlier if you'd like to have a meal at "The Rez"!  The food is for downstairs section of The Rez but you may certainly bring your pints upstairs!  The upstairs at The Rez is accessed by the stairwell at the rear of the restaurant.

Also, the "Summit on Dog River Wild Trout" is this Friday November 4th at the Capital City Grange from 1:00-4:00.  We see this Summit as starting point to take significant action on behalf of the wild trout in the Dog and for overall health of the Dog River.

MDTU is reaching out to local landowners, local conservation commissions, watershed groups, Norwich University, and, of course, staff within the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation and the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department.  It's crucial that action is done in partnership.

MDTU believes that in order to revive the wild trout and improve the quality of the Dog River that all partners bring valuable data, experiences and insights to the table.  Together, we need to look at what's been done for the river and what obstacles the Dog is up against.

MDTU wants all partners to take action for Dog River wild trout and the health of the Dog River!  If you'd like to attend then replie to this email.

Plan to attend the next MDTU meeting on Thursday the 3rd at 7:00!  Remember to arrive earlier if you plan to have dinner!  There's always a few of us there by 6:00 some come on down!
