In this season where we step to the threshold of winter's gate, this event aims to honor many traditions and rituals in an inclusive and respectful environment. We welcome you to bring your own traditions of passing the season into the next, and request a peaceful and open attentiveness to the ways we each pay our respects to, and celebrate the passage of time.
One approach this time of year:
Holding reverence for Samhain, also known as the Witches New Year
A time when the veil thins. Samhain is a cross quarter day in the Pagan calendar of 8 segments, marking the mid point of Autumn. Falling between Fall Equinox and Winter Solstice.
Samhain is also known as Hallowmas. It is an ancestor holiday in North America. It is a time to welcome the darkness of winter and shadow. It is believed the barriers that normally hold steadfast between our world and the other world thin, letting us walk with spirits and ancestors long passed.
The holy days of the dead infuse our energy with sublime gratitude, make our chosen actions more potent, open the weave, bring in the tender ways of the sacred, give unbroken ancestral connection back to ourselves, bring us back to intimate affiliation with Earth's rhythms. It is time to ritually recalibrate ourselves, express our full palette, our innate wholeness, and delight with reverence to the ceremonies and celebrations of our ancestors.
